For locksmiths
Get your locksmith business recommended by AI
Someone locked out at night, a landlord changing locks between tenants, a homeowner told by their insurer to fit better locks: some of them now ask an AI assistant who to call. Because anyone in the UK can call themselves a locksmith, people look hard for signs they can trust you. Here is what tends to decide whether you get named, and what you can check yourself.
The check is free. Paid help has fixed prices: the full audit is £395 + VAT, one-off (pilot £195 + VAT for our first 5 clients). See all prices.
Questions customers ask AI
Typical examples of what people type or say to an AI assistant when they need a locksmith:
- “I'm locked out in [your town]. Is there a locksmith who can come now?”
- “Can you recommend a local locksmith near me who will not overcharge?”
- “Who can change the locks on my house in [your town] after moving in?”
- “Who fits British Standard locks for home insurance near me?”
What AI assistants tend to look at
- A genuine Google Business Profile: your real business name, a real address or a service area (no virtual offices or made-up branches), and the towns you really cover. Listings that break Google's rules can be removed.
- Clear call-out hours and how you price, in plain words: whether you charge a call-out fee, whether you give a price before you start, and whether you try non-destructive entry first. Customers worry about being overcharged, and they ask about it.
- Memberships and checks you really have, such as Master Locksmiths Association membership or a DBS check: named on your website and matching the body's own records.
- A page for each main job (emergency lockouts, lock changes, uPVC door repairs, insurance-rated locks, safes) saying which towns you cover.
- Reviews that mention the job, the time and the place, such as "came out at 11pm in [town] and got us in without damage". You cannot write them, but you can ask every customer.
What a good answer looks like
Example only: fictional town and businesses
Who is a trustworthy locksmith in Puddlecombe for a lockout tonight?
Local locksmiths that mention emergency lockouts include:
Tumbler & Key: 24-hour lockouts, non-destructive entry first, price agreed before work starts, covers Puddlecombe and nearby villages.
Deadbolt Dan: lock changes, weekdays.
The locksmith named first answers the customer's real worries, when, how and how much, in plain words and in more than one place.
What we don't promise
We never guarantee a place in an AI answer. AI assistants decide for themselves, and nobody can promise what they will say. What we sell is careful checking, real fixes and honest measurement.
Four things you can do this week
- Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity two or three of the questions above, with your own town. Ask each more than once, because answers change.
- Write down who gets named instead of you. If it is a national call centre or directory rather than a local locksmith, note that too.
- Check your Google Business Profile shows your real name, your real service area and accurate call-out hours.
- Ask your last five customers for a review that mentions the job and the town.

Rather we looked for you?
Start with the free check: we ask ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini the kind of questions above about your business and email you what they said. If you want more, every service has a fixed price.
Questions
Why do national call centres sometimes get named instead of local locksmiths?
AI assistants draw on what is published, and large directories publish a lot. A complete Google profile with your real service area, clear hours and reviews from local jobs gives an assistant a genuine local option to name. We cannot promise it will.
Is Master Locksmiths Association membership worth mentioning?
If you are a member, yes: on your website and your profile, matching the association's own member search. Because locksmiths are not licensed by law in the UK, customers look for signs like this. Never claim a membership you do not hold.
Should I publish my call-out prices?
You do not have to, but explaining how you price, and that you agree a price before starting, answers one of the most common worries. Whatever you say, keep it the same everywhere.
Can you guarantee AI will recommend my locksmith business?
No. Nobody honestly can. We check where you stand, fix what is likely holding you back and measure again.
