For independent garages and MOT test centres
Get your garage recommended by AI
A warning light comes on, the MOT is due next week, the air con has stopped working: some drivers now ask an AI assistant where to go before they search. The answer usually names a handful of garages. Here is what tends to decide whether yours is one of them, and what you can check yourself.
The check is free. Paid help has fixed prices: the full audit is £395 + VAT, one-off (pilot £195 + VAT for our first 5 clients). See all prices.
Questions customers ask AI
Typical examples of what people type or say to an AI assistant when they need a garage or MOT centre:
- “Where can I get an MOT near me on a Saturday?”
- “Is there an independent garage in [your town] that services hybrid cars?”
- “Who can re-gas my car air con near me?”
- “Can you recommend an honest garage in [your town] for a clutch replacement on a Ford Focus?”
What AI assistants tend to look at
- Your Google Business Profile: the right main category, MOTs, servicing, diagnostics, tyres, air con and anything else you do listed separately, and opening hours that are accurate, including Saturdays and bank holidays.
- A page on your website for each main service, saying which makes or types of car you work on (for example hybrids or vans) and whether you offer collection, a courtesy car or a waiting area.
- If you test MOTs: say you are a DVSA-approved MOT test centre, which classes of vehicle you test, and how to book.
- Schemes and qualifications you really hold, such as accreditation with The Motor Ombudsman or technicians qualified to work on electric and hybrid cars: named on your website and matching the scheme's own records.
- Reviews that mention the car and the job, such as "found the fault on our Astra other garages missed". Detail like that helps the next driver and gives AI something specific to say.
What a good answer looks like
Example only: fictional town and businesses
Where can I get an MOT on a Saturday in Puddlecombe?
A couple of options locally:
Sprocket Lane Motors: MOT test centre open Saturday mornings, also services hybrids, free collection in Puddlecombe.
Gearbox & Grommet: servicing and repairs, weekdays only.
The garage named first states its MOT testing, its Saturday hours and what it works on, so it matches the question exactly.
What we don't promise
We never guarantee a place in an AI answer. AI assistants decide for themselves, and nobody can promise what they will say. What we sell is careful checking, real fixes and honest measurement.
Four things you can do this week
- Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity two or three of the questions above, with your own town. Ask each more than once, because answers change.
- Write down which garages get named instead of you. Look at their Google profiles: which services, makes and opening hours do they spell out that you do not?
- Check your Google Business Profile opening hours, including Saturdays and any bank holiday changes, and list MOTs and each service on their own.
- Ask your last five happy customers for a review that mentions their car and the job you did.

Rather we looked for you?
Start with the free check: we ask ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini the kind of questions above about your business and email you what they said. If you want more, every service has a fixed price.
Questions
Do opening hours really make a difference?
They can decide whether you match the question at all. Many questions drivers ask include a time, such as "on a Saturday" or "today". If your hours are missing or out of date on Google and your website, an assistant has nothing reliable to go on.
Should I list the makes of car I work on?
If you specialise or have particular experience, yes, in plain words on your website and profile. Only list what you are genuinely set up to work on. Customers often ask by make and model.
Do I need to show MOT prices?
You do not have to. If you offer a fixed MOT price or a discount with a service, saying so plainly answers a common question. Keep it the same everywhere it appears.
Can you guarantee AI will recommend my garage?
No. Nobody honestly can. We check where you stand, fix what is likely holding you back and measure again.
