For plumbers and heating engineers
Get your plumbing business recommended by AI
Some customers now ask an AI assistant like ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity for a plumber instead of scrolling search results. The answer usually names a handful of businesses. Here is what tends to decide whether yours is one of them, and what you can fix this week.
The check is free. Paid help has fixed prices: the full audit is £395 + VAT, one-off (pilot £195 + VAT for our first 5 clients). See all prices.
Questions customers ask AI
Typical examples of what people type or say to an AI assistant when they need plumbers:
- “Who is a reliable emergency plumber near me in [your town]?”
- “Can anyone fix a leaking boiler in [your town] today?”
- “Which plumbers in [your town] fit bathrooms and have good reviews?”
- “Is there a Gas Safe engineer near me for a boiler service?”
What AI assistants tend to look at
- Your Google Business Profile: the right main category (Plumber), the services you really offer, the towns you cover, and opening hours that make clear whether you take emergency call-outs.
- Reviews that mention the job and the place, such as "fixed our leak the same day". You cannot write them, but you can ask every happy customer.
- A page on your website for each main job (emergency call-outs, boiler repairs, bathroom fitting) that says which towns you cover.
- Your Gas Safe registration, if you work on gas: shown on your website and matching your entry on the Gas Safe Register.
- The same business name, area and phone number everywhere: your website, Google, Facebook and any trade directories you use.
What a good answer looks like
Example only: fictional town and businesses
Who is a good emergency plumber in Puddlecombe?
A few options people mention locally:
Brassneck Plumbing & Heating: 24-hour call-outs, Gas Safe registered, covers Puddlecombe and nearby villages.
Copperkettle Plumbers: boiler repairs and leaks, weekday call-outs.
The business named first says clearly what it does, when and where, in more than one place.
What we don't promise
We never guarantee a place in an AI answer. AI assistants decide for themselves, and nobody can promise what they will say. What we sell is careful checking, real fixes and honest measurement.
Four things you can do this week
- Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity two or three of the questions above, with your own town. Ask each more than once, because answers change.
- Write down who gets named instead of you. Look at their Google profile and website: what do they say that you do not?
- Check your Google Business Profile category, services and service areas are complete and true.
- Send a short review request to your last five happy customers.

Start with the free check: we ask ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini the kind of questions above about your business and email you what they said. If you want more, every service has a fixed price.
Questions
Do I need a website to be recommended by AI?
It helps, but it is not the only thing. AI assistants also draw on your Google Business Profile, reviews and directory listings. If you have no website, start with those. Our free check works without one.
Do trade directory profiles matter?
They can be one of the places AI assistants find information about you, so keep them complete and consistent with your Google profile and website. Each assistant picks its own sources, so no single directory is the answer on its own.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my plumbing business?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. AI assistants decide for themselves. We check where you stand, fix what is likely holding you back and measure again.
